Kondapalli toys and dolls bommalu are made of wood from Kondapalli, Andra Pradesh in India. These beautifully crafted, colourful toys and Home Decor items are an intergral part of golus and other traditional festivals like Sankaraniti and Navaratri. Kondapalli toys are made from soft wood which are found in near Kondapalli Hills. The wood is first carved out and then the edges are smooth finished and colourfully painted. The artisans mainly work on producing figures of mythology, animals, birds, bullock carts, rural life etc., and the most notable one is Dasavataram and the royal elephants carrying the king known as Ambari.
